Meetings (scroll down for schedule)
Visitors, friends, the curious, and prospective members are welcome at all meetings.

Members are from all walks of life and age groups, with different levels of experience and interest in this wonderful hobby. Some are pet owners who enjoy a single bird or two. Others, who are serious about exhibiting, attend shows all over the country. We strive to gear our meeting content to accommodate everyone. Members also receive a monthly newsletter of eight to ten pages packed with highlights of the previous meeting, member news, upcoming meetings and shows, helpful hints, articles and other important information.

Meetings usually take place on Sunday afternoon and typically last two and one half hours. They are quite informative, and a great place to learn, to make new friends, and to share knowledge and experience. We have at least one planned topic each month, with a speaker and presentation. Often an additional subject or two will be covered as well. Time is also set aside for having a snack and a cup of coffee or other beverage while socializing.

The latter part of the meeting is given over to what we affectionately refer to as “budgie banter,” where open discussion or questions are aired. Guests are always welcome, even if for only a portion of a meeting. There is no charge to attend and no obligation to join.

Note that meetings are not held at a dedicated meeting space, but rather at the home of a different member each month. This system of varying the locations allows more people to attend at least a few meetings a year without having to travel a great distance. If a meeting has to be canceled due to weather, etc., or the location is changed, members are notified in advance. For privacy reasons, we don't publish a member's home address on the web. Therefore, if you plan to attend a meeting as a visitor, E-mail TRISTATEBUDGIE@aol.com a few days before the posted meeting date to verify the meeting location and to get directions.
